Stop Throwing, Start Earning: Berry Bazaar App Transforms Clothing Waste Into Income

Indore, Madhya Pradesh (India), September 02, 2025: What started as a simple WhatsApp group for selling pre-owned clothes has transformed into Berry Bazaar, a mobile application that’s changing how people buy and sell sustainable fashion in India. Founded by Chenali Agrawal, a housewife and mother of two from Indore, the app addresses a common problem many face – what to do with good-condition clothes that no longer fit their lifestyle.

A Journey Born from Personal Experience

Chenali’s entrepreneurial path wasn’t straightforward. Over several years, she tried her hand at various ventures, including selling artificial jewelry, decorative items, and ladies’ dresses during the pandemic. Each business lasted about a year before she had to wind it up for different reasons. But every setback taught her something valuable about what customers really needed.

“I always felt attracted to the concept of turning waste into something useful,” Chenali explains. “I kept thinking there should be a platform where people could easily sell their pre-owned but good-condition clothes.”

Three years ago, she created a WhatsApp group to test this idea. While she managed to fulfill a few orders, the experience came with unexpected challenges like late-night calls from customers, orders placed but never picked up, and the hassle of manually coordinating everything. These frustrations became the foundation for her next venture.

The App Solution

After researching existing platforms and finding them either too expensive or using complicated coin-based systems instead of cash transactions, Chenali decided to build her own solution. Berry Bazaar launched on the Play Store on June 15, 2023, with a simple mission: to make buying and selling pre-owned clothes as easy as possible while keeping fees minimal for maintenance only.

Building an Eco-Friendly Marketplace

Berry Bazaar goes beyond just clothing resale. Chenali envisions it as a comprehensive platform for all eco-friendly products, making sustainable shopping convenient through a single mobile app. Rather than forcing small manufacturers and resellers to navigate complex websites, the app provides an accessible platform where they can reach customers directly.

“We want to help someone declutter their wardrobe while bringing happiness to someone else through affordable, quality clothing,” Chenali shares. “It’s about sustainability and giving products a second life before they end up in landfills.”

Seeking Collaboration Partners

Berry Bazaar is actively seeking partnerships with small manufacturing units, eco-friendly product makers, and resellers who want to expand their reach. The platform offers these businesses an alternative to expensive website development, providing instead a ready-to-use mobile marketplace where customers can discover eco-friendly products in one convenient location.

The app’s user-friendly interface eliminates the common barriers that prevent small businesses from going digital, while its focus on sustainability aligns with growing consumer awareness about environmental responsibility.

For Chenali, Berry Bazaar represents more than just another business venture; it’s proof that persistent housewives with practical ideas can create solutions that benefit entire communities.
